Thank you for your helpful site. Although I have not visited the Fort (I am Australian) it is most interesting to see where my Great Grandfather probably spent time between 1856-61(as well as Forts Bliss and Davis). He was with "I" Company 8th Regiment and was captured and imprisoned by the South, escaped to Matamoros, back to NY and in 1863 came to Australia. Thank you for your helpful site.
